Using the star shape, pupils have 5 reflective questions to answer based on the lesson. This is part of unpicking the meta-cognitive process of how they learnt, what they enjoyed, next steps etc. Useful for the teacher to gain feedback on the lesson taught.

Starter looking at poverty in the Elizabethan times, specifically the new question for GCSE OCR SHP history in which students have to investigate a line of enquiry about a source. Using 4 pictures of poverty then and now students have to generate 5 questions and draw a conclusion as to what the lesson is about.
