A quick Math recall activity to help solidify place value and keep those brains sharp around numbers
It is also an excellent resource to have laminated on the display board and encourage children to engage in throughout the day.
This book contains three subjects with 5 activities in each subject. The aim is to provide the child with three activities each day for a 5 day week.
When the book is laminated then at the end of the week, it can all be rubbed out to repeat the process again for a new week.
The book includes:
English:
word of the day
SPaG hunt
story planning and writing
reading challenge
root words, prefix and suffix
Maths:
number of the day
addition practice
partitioning
numbers play (like in the TV show count down)
concept of the day
planet of the day
Creative curriculum:
country of the day
periodic element of the day
RE of the day
life cycles
planet of the day

Because COVID has kept children out of school for so long, and now with the 6 week summer holiday, this would be an excellent opportunity to keep children working on those recall skills to help them start their new year with the confidence they need.
Taken from the ‘one a day’ booklet, this sheet allows children to practise their addtion skills using addition equations.
Using a dice that generates single digit numbers, children can find patterns and practice bonds when adding numbers together.
