To create realistic looking house exteriors, artists must use linear perspective. This was invented in the Renaissance period by Leonardo Da Vinci. Students will learn how to draw houses that look like they are popping out of the paper (three-dimensional).

The Art & Craft Hut have designed a downloadable and printable (A3/A4) book that teaches learners about how artists from different movements & periods, created Art from home. This activity book includes mindfulness colouring, practical activities and information about artists. The themes include: My Bed: Did you know your possessions, room & even bed tells a story about you? Learn about Tracey Emin’s autobiographical artwork & create a bed ‘self-portrait.’ Out The Window: Brett Whiteley & Henri Matisse created artwork from what they saw outside their window. Students will create paintings, drawings & collages of what they can see from outside their window use the colour palettes created by the artists! In The Garden: Some famous gardens in Art history must include Claude Monet’s & Frida Kahlo’s! Both artists were inspired by what they found in their garden. Students will create flower crown portraits & observe light & colour as is changes in their garden. Create Linear Perspective House Drawings: To create realistic looking house exteriors, artists must use linear perspective. This was invented in the Renaissance period by Leonardo Da Vinci. Students will learn how to draw houses that look like they are popping out of the paper (three-dimensional). In The Kitchen: Stocked up on food? Great! Learn about how James Rosenquist, Giuseppe Arcimboldo & Victoria Reynolds create artwork with the subject matter ‘food from home.’ Students will do some observational drawing of what they find around the kitchen.
