This PowerPoint starts with a ‘Think-Pair-Share’ task. It then has various exercises from gap-fill to an exam question with the aid of a fact sheet of Dharavi. These are all printable resources within the PowerPoint. The resource also includes 6 accounts of peoples own experience of Dharavi which can lead to open discussion or for students to write the positives and negatives of living in Dharavi.

This is a lesson plan I made for an observation for Year 7 with War Horse. This can be used in a SoW or as revision material. The main task for this is for students to attempt their own PEEL paragraph after they have chosen their friendships and quotes from the text. There is also a PowerPoint of this lesson in which I used for an observation also.

This lesson was for a Year 9 class but can be used for any KS3 class for students to think about their future. The lesson is cross-curricular as it asks students to think of their Option Choices for Year 10 and what job they would like to do in the future. This lesson is after another lesson entitled “Who are You?” and is available too as a bundle. The main task is a small article with a comprehension in relation the the question: What would you like to do when you grow up? An excellent resource to be used at the end of the play to analyse the key scenes in the play. These also include key extracts that students can be used for questions on the play. At the end of the PowerPoint the students are asked to write about a certain theme(s) using key scenes.

This is a very good resource that I gave to my examination students who are using recording devices or typing their examination answers. The questions within the feedback sheet were given after their mocks but can be also used for in-class preparation. The answers will give you knowledge of what the student hopes to focus on so you can plan what improvements need to be targeted.

A PowerPoint that I made for my lower ability Year 10 GCSE group. There is a matching activity within the PowerPoint where students use the pictures to find the line or lines of the poem that relates to the picture. There are also opportunities to have your own questions depending on your group and an opportunity for students to practice their presentation skills.

This is a PowerPoint that I used with a mixed ability Year 7 group. This could also be used with a year 6 group in Primary. This is a lesson where students really enjoyed the mixture of many activities that get the best from students and is student-led. This presentation concern the use of the internet within media studies. This presentation gives the advantages and disadvantages of the internet. It also gives students the opportunity to work in pairs and individually.

A PowerPoint resource for the poem Dulce et Decorum est by Wilfred Owen. It starts with a small bio to uncover the context of the poem. The poem is broken into smaller stanzas so the students can engage with the poem. Many key words are underlined and a description of the poems meaning given. Questions are posed to promote class discussion.

A presentation I used for my students to plan a question from the 2009 Leaving Certificate examination. The emphasis is on the students to plan their own answer to the question after being prompted by certain themes and Q&A discussion within the class.

This lesson shows students the gap between the rich and poor within HICs and LICs. Included in the PowerPoint there are gap-fill exercises and also an exam question. There is a printable exercise sheet where students compare Lesotho and the UK and a hyperlink for a YouTube video.
