A set of knowledge organisers and revision summaries that cover the Overview and Water Option of Section C Paper 2 of the AQA GCSE Syllabus. The content is summarised concisely to allow for effective revision. A PDF version is included for easy distribution and the Power-Point version allows you to edit the resource to fit into your teaching, the examples are in separate tables to allow for easy editing.
Designed for the 9-1 AQA Geography Exam. A complete lesson based on the Thar Desert as a case study for the Opportunities and Challenges section. The lesson contains a video link that covers the case study in detail. This is supported by a scaffolded exam question which includes an answer sheet. The lesson combines a memorable case study with a structured assessment activity. The examiner reports identifies that students found applying specific information to this question was problematic for many and the scaffolded exam question addresses this issue. They all remember the golden rat!
An alternative/complementary lesson based on the Oxford textbook is available separately.

Two versions are included to allow for differentiation. Crucially the simpler version does not dumb down the vocabulary that is likely to be used in exam questions, allowing students to access the paper. It has however had the content reduced to 2-3 key points per idea so that students don’t feel overwhelmed by the content.
