This presentation teaches the use of adverbs as conjunctions, stressing word order and showing how to write longer sentences by sequencing actions. It also looks at the different words to use for ‘when’ in German. Grammatical explanation, gap-fills, translation practice and oral work are all provided.

Starting with clothing and colours, it practices endings for the indefinite article in the Accusative case via Tic Tac Toe before moving on to cover the three tables of endings and also what happens after ‘etwas’ and ‘nichts’. The last slide is a challenging exercise where ANY appropriate adjective with correct ending should be inserted before each noun in the text.

It begins with the Nominative case, which it practises via Tic Tac Toe and moves on to the other three cases, which it develops through translation activities, before showing the parallel with the interrogatives ‘wer’, ‘wen’, ‘wessen’, ‘wem’ and demonstrating when the relative pronouns is ‘was’. The final slide is a text about family, which includes many relative pronouns and which I’ve entitled ‘my relatives’.
