This is the eleventh lesson in a series created for the A Level unit Democracy and Dictatorship in Germany. It considers the debate relating to the recovery of the economy under Stresemann, and involves activities requiring the students to evaluate evidence and reach conclusions in relation to different historical interpretations. It also introduces and requires students to write a 20 mark essay for homework. Ideally this lesson should be taught in conjunction with the Access to History, Democracies and Dictatorships in Germany, but other text books could be used to support it.

This is the twelfth lesson for the A Level democracy and dictatorships in Germany unit, and it focuses on an assessment of the perceived political stability of the Weimar Republic 1924-30. It looks at the difficulties of forming coalitions, but also the decline of extremism. Research into key person Paul Von Hindenburg. This lesson would take an hour to teach, but home learning would be needed to complete all of the activities.

Lower prior attaining students aiming for levels 4/5 need to learn them and write another reason as a third paragraph. Higher attaining students need to extend the reasons, and then add another detailed one of their own. They will learn the importance of the events as they write.
