The Tower of London, a historic fortress located on the River Thames in London, is one of the UK’s most iconic landmarks. Built by William the Conqueror in the 11th century, it has served as a royal palace, a prison, an armory, and the home of the Crown Jewels. Known for its rich and sometimes grim history, the Tower has witnessed intrigue, treachery, and royal drama over the centuries. Today, it stands as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a must-visit destination, offering a glimpse into the fascinating history of medieval England. I’ve added some images which can be used to describe a setting.

Guy Fawkes, born in 1570, was an Englishman known for his role in the Gunpowder Plot of 1605, a failed conspiracy aimed at assassinating King James I and blowing up the House of Lords. Fawkes, a Catholic, was part of a group that sought to end Protestant rule and restore Catholic leadership in England. The plot was uncovered, and Fawkes was arrested while guarding explosives placed beneath the Parliament building. He was subsequently tortured and executed. Today, Guy Fawkes is remembered each November 5th during Bonfire Night, where his image is often burned in effigies, symbolizing the foiling of the plot and the importance of parliamentary democracy.
