2, 4, 6, 8 Meet Me at the Garden Gate is a super fun (and simple!) chant to teach quarter and eighth notes (ta and titi) to younger elementary students-- especially for Spring music lessons! My kindergarten and first graders used this chant to practice beat, rhythm, and get moving!

This lesson file includes a 30 slide Google Slides presentation that includes practicing beat, hand clapping game, introducing rhythm (crotchet + quavers notes), a guess-the-rhythm activity, and creating a B section with flower composition cards.

This is a great lesson for any Kodaly inspired teacher in the spring time.

Note: When you download, you will get a PDF with instructions on how to view the Google Drive folder. You will need to copy the slides in order to edit them.

Everything is included in regular and stick notation.

Includes:
30 slide presentation
2 clapping games
Introduce quarter + eighth notes
5 Rhythm practice cards
4 guess the rhythm cards
Digital + printable flower composition cards
Printable beat charts + rhythm pages to track
Everything in stick notation
