From year 8-9, depending on their Spanish level. This is a lesson based on Coco’s film trailer, which talks about the Mexican festival “Día de (los) Muertos”. First, there are some vocabulary and grammar activities (if your students have not learnt the future or the conditional, you will need to adapt it), then you watch the trailer and at the end, you may encourage students to watch the film and answer some questions or find the answer online. Answers are included in the PPT. The film is remarkably beautiful, so don’t hesitate to recommend it. Even year 10s liked it!

Very well planned and prepared resource. I loved it and I would like to know where to purchase the film in Spanish, like the trailer used in this resource. I have already spent money in two digital copies that do not have this quality of Spanish.

¡Muchas gracias! As for the film in Spanish, I am afraid you may have to purchase it online if you would like to have a physical DVD. Be careful though, as there is a version for Spain and another one for Mexico. I would recommend the latter, as it makes no sense to watch a movie about a Mexican festival in Spanish from Spain in my opinion. Otherwise, you may want to consider a monthly subscription to Disney+ (as far as I know, the first month is free and it is possible to cancel it anytime) although I am not sure in what languages the film will be available in the UK.

I have checked Amazon's website and the DVD in Mexican Spanish is available for purchase. However, it may take more time than usual to arrive due to the current healthcare crisis.
