Objectives: Bassline
To understand how bass lines can add texture and solidify harmony
To understand how to find a bassline from a chord loop
To manipulate the sounds of the bass line to create their own unique sound.
Starter:
Listening task: What difference does a bass line make? Listen to a piece on the powerpoint with and without a bassline and have a class discussion on it’s importance.
Task:
• Find the bassline of a chord loop
• Copy and paste into new track
• Manipulate and change sound of bassline, then repeat to add further layers.
Plenary: Upload garage band file to google classroom and listen to selected pupils pieces.
Challenge/extension: Opportunity to create their own bass line.
