El supermercado: Practice with Spanish nationalities

The town of “El sol” in Mexico is a tourist destination. Many tourists from other Spanish speaking countries visit there regularly. The supermarket in town “Nuestra casa” has a new system where tourists from Spanish speaking countries that pay with Mexican pesos can get their change in their home currency. For example, a Cuban citizen would receive their change in Cuban peso.

Your task: For each customer, calculate the amount of change they will receive and write in the numerical form (Ex: 4.55) Then, based on each customer’s home currency, write their nationality in Spanish in the last column using the word bank. Note: Be sure that each nationality agrees with the person in gender (masculine / feminine).

*A template is provided to write the change and nationalities.

*There are 15 nationalities. Note: All nationalities will be used in the singular form only (masculine / feminine) for all 15 customers.

Word bank for nationalities: argentino / cubano / uruguayo / dominicano / paraguayo / guatemalteco / peruano / hondureño / boliviano / nicaragüense / costarricense / colombiano / panameño / venezolano / chileno

Answer key is included on pages 3-4. This practice can be used for classwork, homework, quiz, review, entry / exit slip.
