Bright and cheerful reward certificates that pupils enjoy receiving, and which save on the cost of buying commercially produced ones. Ideally 'his/her' should replace 'their', as already mentioned, but I think these days the use of the generic 'their' is acceptable in an informal context.
Nice idea, but the incorrect grammar jars somewhat - should read "his/her" not "their." Especially important when learning languages.
