We don't live in a Pokemon World - as musicians we live in a Sibelius World! It's one where the ability to notate with pencil and paper is being lost. In the exam students will be expected to respond to music dictation. These two exercises encourage students to learn what the music looks like on paper by removing notes from the themes one or two at a time and requiring the student to fill in the gaps.
