KS5 Topic Revision & Speaking Practice

This resource provides KS5 pupils with the opportunity to test their vocabulary and knowledge of different topics. The cards on each sheet can be cut up and used as a card sorting activity, in which pupils have to match up relevant facts to the statements made in the larger boxes. This will enable pupils to practice providing ‘evidence’ when making statements (which is a key aspect of the KS5 speaking exam). Once the cards have been sorted (as a reading activity), pupils can begin having discussions about the statements made and whether they agree / disagree etc.

I have done the activity with my current Year 12 class and it really helped them think deeply about different topics and tested their vocabulary. After the match-up activity, they were able to have a detailed debate about a range of topics :)
