Numbers to 20

A powerpoint recapping numbers to 20 using different concrete resources.

Resources used:

• Whiteboards and dry erase markers
• Straws and elastic bands
• Unifix cubes and number tracks
• Unifix cubes and tens frames
• Counters and tens frames
• Numicon and 0-10 number lines
• Bead strings
• Rekenreks
• Base ten blocks and 0-20 number lines
• Base ten blocks and place value charts (tens and ones columns)

Notes:

• I used this over two lessons to recap numbers from 0 - 20 with my Year 2 pupils.
• Pupils went back and forth from the carpet to their tables
• On the carpet, I modeled how to use the resource
• At their tables, they had a go on their own or with a partner
• I only put out one resource on their tables at a time.
