Preterit v imperfect quick practice

For each sentence, write the Spanish translation of the clue word (yesterday, every day etc) using the word bank provided. Then, conjugate the verb in the preterit or imperfect tenses based on the clue word. Write your answers in the template provided.

There are 12 sentences total. A structured template is provided. Answer key is included on pages 3-4.

Verbs included: (Preterit): hablar, comer, salir, ir, ver, hacer / (Imperfect): jugar, leer, escribir, ser, dar, hacer

Example:

Clue word + subject + infinititive + rest

Yesterday + yo + hablar + con mi amigo.

Student response: Clue word (Spanish) + Yo + conjugation + rest

Ayer + yo + hablé + con mi amigo.

This practice can be used for classwork, homework, review, quiz, entry or exit slip.
