Preterit worksheet

A worksheet to practice conjugations and sentence writing in the preterit tense

All verb types included: regular, spelling change (car, gar, zar), irregular, and -ir stem change (30 total)

Infinitives used:

Regular: cantar, aprender, salir, acostarse

Spelling change: buscar, jugar, empezar, leer, caer, destruir

Irregular: ser, ir, dar, ver, querer, venir, hacer, andar, saber, poner, poder, tener, traer, conducir, decir

Ir stem change: pedir, divertirse, dormir, vestirse

For each infinitive, students will conjugate it for all 6 persons. Then, they will write an original 8 word sentence. A clue word (ayer, anoche etc) is given at the beginning of every sentence.

Verbs are grouped by category: regular, spelling change, irregular, and -ir stem change, so the assignment can be broken up based on what students are learning.
