I have used this lesson successfully with my Year 10 and Year 11 classes when teaching market research as part of the required exam board specification content for GCSE Business Studies (e.g. AQA 2130).
This lesson focuses on primary research and what it is/entails, as well as its advantages and disadvantages. It includes kinaesthetic activities which students will enjoy, as well as extension questions for the more able.
The lesson aims are:
1. Understand what primary market research is, using examples
2. Explain advantages and disadvantages of primary market research
3. Investigate and judge whether a business idea would be successful, using primary market research
A starter activity is attached, with a PowerPoint presentation which includes definitions, examples, an research activity and an plenary activity also, making it a great lesson resource.
