Regular -ar, -er, -ir preterit fast practice

For each question, conjugate the verb in the preterit in the first blank. Then, in the second blank add 2-3 words to expand on your answer.

Example:

1. ¿Qué hiciste tú ayer?

(hablar: to speak) Yo _____________ + _______________________________

(comer: to eat) Yo _____________ + _________________________________

(escribir: to write) Yo _____________ + _______________________________

Note: All questions are with hacer. Students will conjugate 18 different verbs (combination of -ar, -er, -ir) for yo, tu, el, nosotros, vosotros, ellos.

A table with -ar, -er, -ir preterit endings is included for reference.

Answer key is included on page 2 for conjugations only. Student answers will vary for the second blank.
