If you’re teaching recorder to 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade music students this winter, you’ll want this matching game. Learning recorder is easier when you combine practicing playing with other activities to help students remember the notes, recorder fingerings, and notes on the staff. Plus, the snowman theme makes them extra fun!

Students will build snowmen (cue the Frozen music…) by matching letter names, notes on the staff, and recorder fingerings. You could also just use the top two pieces of the snowmen to reinforce staff letters-- the first time we played, we used all of the snowmen for treble clef, but only the fingerings for B, A, and G.

Use these for elementary music centers in third, fourth, and fifth grade. You can also walk around the room and record who is accurately matching as an assessment!

Also included is a recording sheet. It has the outlines of the snowmen with space to write the letter, note on treble clef, and fill in fingerings so that students can be held accountable.

These are also available in recorder fingerings, rhythm, and treble clef. Or you can get the same thing, but as snowmen, hearts, shamrocks, or puzzle pieces.

Notes included: low E, F, G, A, B, C (on treble clef staff), D (on staff), C (below staff), D (below staff)

Includes:
Directions
9 matching snowmen (some letters are on there twice-- high and low version)
Recording sheet

NOTE: These include letter names for notes on the staff, NOT fixed do.
