Spell and write CVC words

This resource is designed to encourage children to correctly identify all the sounds in CVC words. For each picture, there are a selection of sounds. First, then need to say the word, then break it down into phonemes “bus…b-u-s”. In the column next to the images, they then identify and colour these phonemes before writing the word in the last column. This activity can be used to support segmenting and blending within a lesson, or as an assessment tool to identify whether children can do this independently.
