Suitable for primary age pupils. This song is a very simple one to learn with only two verses. The first features the soldiers going to war and the jobs that they leave. The second focusses on the women who replace the men in their jobs… ending with, ‘we can do anything!’.

I have included a backing track, lyrics and piano score. If there is anything else you need to help with your performance please get in touch.

I am a parent that heard Myra's composition at my son's school Remembrance Service. Eighty year five boys sang it with such passion and sincerity; boys that had never sung before. It took everyone completely by surprise - we were expecting a hymn! It was so touching that I had to find a recording to listen to, but having trawled the internet and found Myra on here, I learnt it is still a new song with no recordings available. Wave Goodbye allows the children, especially boys, to connect with the lives of ordinary people who became soldiers. It is very "singable," a great tune, the children can throw themselves into it. The impact was something quite special. I highly recommend.
