The notation is for voices and any instruments. Any instruments which use the treble clef including tuned percussion may be used. Choose instruments that evoke the atmosphere of the season of winter. Students may like to create their own.
‘Winter’ is intended to be the fourth of a series of short compositions for each season. Each increases in difficulty. ‘Autumn’, ‘Spring’ and ‘Summer’ are already available. ‘Summer’ is the most difficult. this explores indeterminacy.
‘Winter’ uses two different arpeggios taken from Vivaldi’s Winter from The Four Seasons. Using glockenspiels and xylophones will make playing them accessible.
