In this resource you have a skeleton scheme of work, a pupil work booklet, link to a listening resource and an essential knowledge and vocabulary sheet.
I current use this as my second unit in year 7 as it consolidate the knowledge from the first ‘keyboards skills’ unit and utilises it to create a composition in binary, ternary or rondo form. The basics of how to write notation are covered in this unit as well ad the development of basic listening skills previously learned.
There is no ‘powerpoint’ for this unit as I simply display the pupil booklet, reducing cognitive overload and ensuring that what is on the screen matches what is in front of the pupil.
This unit of work is designed to last 9 weeks.
