Grammattack KS1 & KS2 is a memorisation activity designed for children in KS2. At a foundation level it would be good for children to understand the definition of certain grammar terms. Having a basic understanding of the terms would allow the children to have a working knowledge during test situations.
Once they have memorised the basic terms they can dive further into what the terms means during their grammar lesson and writing tasks.
Year 3 & 4 Grammar Flashcards have been created to help children understand the definitions that they will come across whilst learning grammar at school. At this age children will be able to read the grammar cards by themselves. These tasks could be used as a review game at end of term.
Children should be encouraged to cut out the definitions and then cut out the words and see if they are able to match the definitions with the titles. Once they have been matched together the children could tick the two cards together back to back and used them as flashcards.
It might be beneficial for children to review grammar terms from the previous years also.
