Number 9 in this remote learning series. Students check work from lesson 8 and answer some straightforward comp.questions.

Number 11 in this series of remote lessons aimed primarily at year 8 students who should be aiming for 30-40 minutes per lesson (ideally). Chunked and hopefully with enough variety to keep them engaged.

Students create a poem by blacking out words in a newspaper or old unwanted book. Ideal for cover lessons, one-offs or as part of a poetry unit.

Short lesson (increasingly students requesting shorter lessons but more frequently) exploring some symbolism in Chapt. 3. Ready to send out.

Number 10 lesson ( ~ 30 minutes or so). Students familarise themselves with JIM CROW laws and create an aide -memoire.

31 slides with links to spark interest in an eclectic mix of stuff.

Challenge to " visit" 31 BLUE PLAQUES of famous people who lived in London at some point in their lives and plot them on a map of the city. Students will need to calculate the distances themselves.

A devilish way to get students discussing. Present the problem and away they go. Suits all ages, including teachers. There are, of course serious issues which stem from this problem. How well do we communicate? Can we explain succinctly? Is there logic in our thinking skills?
