PPT works through each pair of sources looking at Q2, 3 and 4 individually for each. Level 4 model answers included on some slides.

A revision booklet made for Y11 that focuses on annotating several key quotations from Blood Brothers, Walking Away and Mother, Any Distance. Space provided for pupils to write a short response to exam Q. I use these booklets as a form of revision with all abilities. They can either be given out to complete at home, or used with a visualiser for direct instruction.

Contains key quotations for key characters, key themes and settings, writer’s ideas and intentions, and detailed information about context (poverty, workhouse, crime and Industrial Revolution). Language and structural features also included alongside definitions.

A model response for AQA Language Paper 2 Q4 (comparison) Used with my top set- roughly level 7 response. Compares two non fiction texts themed around disease (see my other resources for copy of the mock paper) using an account of the Black Death and an article about Ebola.

A cultural literacy lesson aimed at Y7 Pupil Premium students. Lesson covers key information about Shakespeare and emphasises importance of improving cultural literacy. Card sort activity of common Shakespeare words/phrases and their meanings. Worksheet included- students collect answers to questions throughout lesson and write down any new vocabulary and definitions.

A PowerPoint of 7 lessons covering the descriptive writing aspect of the new AQA Language exam. Covers a range of descriptive features that can be used to answer Q5 of Paper 1.
