This is a fantastic bundle of resources to support the teaching of the history topic Anglo Saxons. The collection of activities includes a powerpoint presentation which is child friendly, giving the important information, without being text heavy. To compliment the presentation we have included a research task to enable children to use their findings to create their very own news report. To really get the most out of this topic, there is also a diary entry activity, which encourages the children to use the information they have found and the key points they have learned from the powerpoint, to put themselves in the shoes of a Briton being invaded by the Anglo Saxons. These fantastic worksheets support children in forming letters in the standard uncursive form. Many children struggle with the cursive writing and go through school with writing which is unreadable. These are a great tool to support children in producing legible writing in an uncursive form, suitable for EYFS, KS1 and learners with SEN who struggle to remember how to form letters. Each letter of the alphabet contains a lower case and an upper case letter and also a sheet with both to put the letters together in a short phrase. A great resource to support letter formation.
These are great sheets which I have used with a range of learners, including learners with Special Educational Needs who were not able to write. They signed/verbalised their caption for an adult to write down word for word. A great assessment tool for all learners to show their level of understanding. Can also be used for children to write their own captions for EYFS, KS1 and KS2. A fabulous resource to inspire creative writing and thoughts.
This is a gorgeous presentation, which creates a high level of engagement, motivation and participation from children. Encouraging child interaction throughout. Can the children beat the jungle animals to find the number that is one more or one less? This has been tried and tested on young children and they absolutely love it! Also included are domino type loop cards of more/less and worksheets which allow children to draw dots to show their understanding of one more/one less if number formation isn’t possible. These are a set of 5 different PE themes, each theme has a selection of different activities included, aimed at children who can find physical education a little difficult. Learners write, using only the pictures as guidance, how they think things have changed in the areas of travel, entertainment and clothing. We have included a selection of 9 different social stories to support children who may need a little more support in social activities and life skills. These have been created in child friendly language. Stories such as these should be read to children repeatedly, to help them in their understanding of different situations and events. These can be particularly helpful to young children and to children with additional needs (SEN) who struggle with social situations.
Some children with autism can benefit from reading/listening to social stories to help them in their understanding. You will find stories on things such as Having a New Baby, Bereavement, Going to the toilet, Understanding the Needs of Others, Honesty and Hurting Others. This is a short powerpoint presentation to present to children that numbers are all around the environment, with photographs of where they can find them. 6 slides, visually stimulating.
These cards and the sentence board can all be laminated to support children in building simple sentences as part of the animals including humans topic in science. Select a card of each colour and build a range of sentences in the correct context. They can also be used to create silly sentences.
These are great prompt sheets of animals. Each sheet shows an image of an animal and has a selection of nouns and adjectives to provide ideas for writing. Enhancing a child’s vocabulary allowing them to magpie ideas to use in their writing. EYFS, SEN & KS1 Read Trace Write sheets for Phonics Phase 2 CVC words.
This is a lovely activity for children in their first stages of development in reading and writing. The activity includes clear, bright illustrations and photographs to support children in their recognition and sounding out of the words. The Phase 2 words shown on the cards should be sounded out and read first, then they can be traced by the learners. The letters and sounds which make up each word can be then written in the grids provided. Encourage children to also look at the shape of the words as this does help when writing the words themselves.
