This is a phonics review game, that can be used to practice the phonetic sounds or even just for students to practice in a fun way.
This resources has 42 circular tiles with a letter or CVC word on them as well as 6 KABOOM tiles. There are also blank tiles for you to create your own tiles depending on which stage you’re working on.
The Sassoon font is embedded into the PowerPoint for you to use to create your tiles with a font that is key to letter recognition and formation .
These Letter Formation Sheets were designed to support phonics lesson I am teaching next week. They can be used as printed on card, colored paper and laminated for continuous provision or as part of a main lesson in EYFS or even as an early intervention in Year 1. They can be independent work, group work or completed with adult support.
There is a sheet for each letter and each one has six different ways for children to form the letter
Trace it
Make it
Scribble it
Draw it
Colour it
Dot it
and focuses on getting children comfortable and familiar with the shapes of each letter.
Here are some game I made for a whole class phonics session. Since the children were all at different levels, we looked at the sound we all know in different ways such as alien words or speed reading
No laminating needed!
Either print one per group or pair or display on the board and let the children play with the interactive board pen :)
In my classroom, I plan to have a learning focus wall with key vocabulary, exemplar work and… the national curriculum objective. I feel it’s important know that we’re sitting for 20 minutes a day practicing how to join the letters ay because we have to. With the curriculum objective on the wall for them to see, the children know what we’re working towards and are able to assess their progress.
These curriculum objectives are:
split into the different ‘topics’ stated in the national curriculum and colour coded
rewritten in kid speak where needed but otherwise use the wording from the curriculum
Landscape A4 to allow you to easily display them on your wall.
This download includes the English, Maths and Science Curriculum Aims for Year 1 in a PDF and just need printing and laminating ready to display! Please note, I am working on a low colour and black and white version as well as editable versions to change the wording to suit you.
Here’s my Back to School Freebie ’ My Exciting Summer’.
This is a simple writing activity that can be used from EYFS up to Year Six for students to either write about their summer or engage in some creative writing and create their own exciting summer.
It’s been differentiated on 4 levels
