Gambling, loot boxes and online gaming. What is gambling and how are children exposed to financial risks in online games? A one hour-long, very detailed, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for KS2. This lesson allows students to find out what gambling is and why taking a risk with our money can be dangerous. This is an introduction to the concept of gambling for students who may not have come across it before and explores online-gaming, scratchcards and other elements of risk. It explores the negative emotions associated with gambling and begins to introduce the concept of addiction too.

Secrets and surprises KS1 PSHE lesson.
A one-hour long, very detailed, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for KS1. This lesson has been created for Year 2, however, the activities are fully editable and could easily be adapted for both younger (Year 1) or older students (Year 3).
In this lesson, the children will learn about harmful secrets and what you should do if a secret makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe.
The students will reflect on Some Secrets Should Never Be Kept by Debra Byrne, before completing a set of discussion-based activities.
The lesson includes a case study starter, a story with accompanying comprehension questions, a card sort discussion task and a plenary.

Drop Down Day / Off Timetable Day Pack - A set of 6 lessons to cover a Drop Down Day (6 hours) all about careers and enterprise.
The Drop Down Day was put together for Year 10 originally, but all the resources are editable and well-differentiated so it could be used with any year group KS4 / KS3 with a tweak or so.
The overall theme for the series of KS4 Drop Down Days was ‘Independent Living’, so this is just one in a series of six which ran throughout the year. This particular day was run just before the Year 10s went off for work experience, as we decided that this would be a great way to prepare them and convey the importance of focusing on their possible future employment opportunities.
As 25% of Britains now class themselves as self-employed, two out of the six sessions also have a large focus on entrepreneurship and enterprise skills.
All these individual lessons have been rated very highly by Tes users and are tried and tested in my own department.

A 25 minute Tutor Time session all about why veganism and vegetarianism are increasing in popularity. The session investigates whether these ways of eating are healthier, why people believe it is difficult to be vegan and the main reasons why people are taking up diets that avoid animal products. The session contains three challenge learning outcomes, slides of easy to digest information, a clip task with differentiated questions, a quiz and final reflection task. Protected Characteristics and the Equality Act
Primary PSHE lesson created for Upper KS2 - Specifically Year 6, although it may also suit lower KS3 students in Year 7.
In this lesson, students will delve into the concept of fairness and examine the differences between equity and equality. We will revisit the term discrimination, then expand on prior knowledge by exploring real-life examples of both direct and indirect discrimination. The class will discuss which groups in our society might require additional support to ensure they have the same opportunities as everyone else. This will naturally lead to an exploration of the Equality Act and its protected characteristics, highlighting how the law helps level the playing field for those most vulnerable to discrimination.
The lesson includes a starter activity, a video task with reflection questions, a creative poster design activity, and a reflective plenary. The lesson is fully resourced and ready to use, but also editable for customisation. This session is best suited to students in Upper Key Stage 2 (specifically Year 6), as it builds on earlier lessons on prejudice and discrimination introduced in Year 4.

Healthy choices PSHE lesson. A one-hour long, very detailed, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for KS2. This lesson has been created for Year 3, however, the contents of the lesson are suitable for students across KS2. In this lesson, the students will discuss what it means to ‘be healthy’. We will look at healthy and unhealthy food choices, including the reasons why eating too much junk food is bad for you. We will also discuss healthy lifestyle choices such as staying physically active, limiting screen time, handwashing and taking care of our oral health.

A Religion and Human Rights Unit lasting 6 hours that was created for Year 9 RE, but could easily be used for a capable Year 8 or none-GCSE KS4 group.

2 HOURS - A fully-resourced, 2 hour lesson which investigates the concepts of free speech and hate speech. Students will explore the UK’s hate speech laws in comparison to other countries and examine contemporary news events where free speech has been used as an excuse for hate speech, such as the YouTuber, ‘PewDiePie’ and his antisemitic ‘pranks’.
This lesson is great for PSHE (investigating bigoted language) or for Citizenship, to examine UK laws in an interesting way, or as part of a Human Rights unit. The lesson is most suitable or KS4 / KS5 (but there is nothing unsuitable for KS3) and is editable, so easy to adapt for your own PSHE planning.

This detailed 17 page PSHE / RSE workbook has been created for the new PSHE / RSE and Health 2020 Statutory Guidance and focuses on consent, boundaries and unwanted / inappropriate contact. It contains all of the information needed to learn about the topic in the first few pages, then the rest of the booklet is full of activities to complete.

It’s easy to print and editable (as it comes in a portrait-version ready to print PowerPoint as well as a PDF version) - so you can always amend it for your students. This could be left as cover (as appropriate to the class and cover teacher) as there’s nothing explicit on the relationships side of things and all of the terminology is carefully explained. No internet access needed.
