Count the Stars by Raewyn Caisley and Gabriel Evans - 6 Worksheets
This resource is a seven page PDF document with activities to do based on the book Count the Stars by Raewyn Caisley and Gabriel Evans. This document contains six worksheets for students.
The activities allow the students to reflect on the story and extend their understanding of the themes within this text. There are comprehension questions, vocabulary activities (compound words and synonyms) and activities to do with the mathematical concepts of symmetry, parallel lines, geometry and money.
This book is an excellent text to use when discussing maths in everyday life.
Overseas buyers please note: The money worksheet included in this resource uses Australian coins.

3D Objects in Everyday Life Sorting Activity - Real Life - Mathematics - Shapes
This resource is a three page PDF file with an activity where students have to sort out 3D objects in everyday life into the categories of: cube, sphere, cone, cyclinder and rectangular prism.
The first page provides the table for students to glue the pictures into. The second page contains all of the 3D object pictures the students need to sort in colour and the third page contains the 3D object pictures in black and white.
Teachers only need to use one page of pictures. We thought we would provide pictures in black and white or colour for teachers to choose which set they would like to use.
This resource could also be used as an assessment activity.
