This is from a series of posters I made for revision of the characters in Pigeon English. They each display quotes and comments that would be useful to revise for the GCSE exam. These posters are of Harrison. I felt there were far too many significant quotes to squeeze on to one poster, so there are two included.
A5 prints make for really good individual student booklets, while producing A4 versions is ideal for general class use. If you’re wanting to display them, they look really good in A3.
As well as display, they can be given as a task for students to build on the quotes, linking each one to specific themes in the novel and/or explaining why the trait of the character is significant. Another common use is to inspire students to make their own for other characters.
Other characters coming very soon are Lydia, Miquita, Julius, Mamma, X-Fire, the Dead Boy, Auntie Sonia, Jordan, Dean, and the Pigeon.
Once they are all completed, I will be making them available as a bundle.
Please note, I also sell similar posters for An Inspector Calls; Romeo & Juliet; Macbeth; Blood Brothers; A Christmas Carol; Frankenstein; The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde. All can be found in my shop - just click on my picture.

I created this for the revision of Frankenstein at GCSE level. This is a multiple round team quiz. It can be given to individuals but it works better with teams because it encourages them to discuss the myriad of potential answers.
Each slide has the answers in its notes. Some rounds (such as the picture and music ones) have answers which are not so definitive. If a student gives a different answer and can justify why they have chosen it, allow them the point, as this is where the revision is happening.
I tend to do a round and then ask them to swap papers for marking. This means you can keep a running total for each team and make it more competitive.
For the music round, I access Youtube. If your school does not allow you access, I recommend downloading the tracks and making a playlist on your phone or laptop.
The objects round is optional. Prior to the quiz lesson, you can set a homework task - students must choose an object that symbolises one of the characters and be prepared to give their reasons why. If they do the task well and there is a decent range of different characters, it will work as a round. Alternatively, they could be like my class where every single member 'forgot' to do their homework...
I have a similar quiz for Romeo and Juliet, so please look at my other resources.

This is a Powerpoint presentation on two poems, encouraging practice in analysing unseen poetry for GCSE. I used it with a top set Y9 group who were interested in the general election. It won't work with everyone, and it does require some understanding of the context. The emphasis is on commenting on Theme, Language, Form and Tone and comparing these four sections.
The mnemonic used is Turn Left For Tanhouse, because of the local area, but this can easily be changed to 'Town' for more general use.
Also included are two Word documents with the poems on, which can serve as handouts for the students to annotate.
Victor Frankenstein’s beloved mother, Caroline Beaufort Frankenstein, is just one of nine posters in my Frankenstein series, created to help revision for the English Literature GCSE.
Individual revision booklets for students can be produced in A5, while A4 prints are ideal for general classroom use. If you wish to use them for display, they come out well in A3.
There are a number of different ways these can be used in class:
Blank out areas of the poster (in Powerpoint or with good old-fashioned white-out and a photocopier) and ask students to fill in the blanks
Ask students to link each of the quotes and comments to a given theme and explain why that quote is significant
Use the ‘picture only’ file to see what they come up with first before going through the complete one
Ask students to make their own poster for other characters and/or texts
Other characters in the series are Victor, Alphonse, Elizabeth, Justine, The Creature, Robert Walton, Henry, and The DeLacey Family. Look for the bundle to save money. My shop can be accessed by clicking on my picture or on the name ‘wezcartoons’.
Other texts available as bundles or individual characters are listed below.

This is from a series of posters I made for revision of the characters in Frankenstein. They each display quotes that would be useful to revise for the GCSE English Literature exam. This poster is of Victor’s father, Alphonse Frankenstein.
Printed in A4 they are ideal for regular classroom use, while A3 produces a good wall display. You could also create individual revision booklets by reproducing these posters in A5.
The posters can be used in a number of different ways. I often ask students to link each of the quotes or comments to a theme and then to explain why that quote is significant. You could also blank out some of the text and ask students to fill in the blanks. The posters can also serve as inspiration for students to make their own, based on other characters and/or other texts.
Victor Frankenstein, The Creature, Elizabeth Lavenza, Robert Walton, Henry Clerval, and Justine Moritz are all currently available, while Caroline and the DeLacey family are coming soon. Once they are completed I will make a bundle available so that you can save some money.
Please take a look at my shop to see the other texts for which I have posters:

Please get in touch if there is a series of characters and quotes which you would like me to make. As long as it will sell on here, I am happy to put the time in to making them.
Victor Frankenstein’s best friend, Henry Clerval, is the latest poster in my Frankenstein series. Each poster in the series displays quotes that will be useful to explore as revision for the English Literature GCSE.
If printed in A4, they are ideal for general classroom use, while A3 makes for decent wall displays. You can even create individual revision booklets for students by reproducing the posters in A5.
