Based on snakes and ladders there are 8 boards covering the Common Exception Words for Year 1. There are 4-6 different words on each board. Just follow the arrow on the rainbow when you land on the square

Slightly different format as have used dotty dice for this one. A dice template has been include but a normal dotty dice can be used as well. Four boards in total as follows: Board 1 - Phase 2 – s,a,t,p,i,n,m,d,g Board 2 - Phase 2 – s,a,t,p,i,n,m,d,g ,o,c,k,ck,e, Board 3 - Phase 2 – s,a,t,p,i,n,m,d,g o,c,k,ck,e,u,r,h,b Board 4 - Phase 2/3 -s,a,t,p,i,n,m,d,g,o,c,k,ck,e,u,r,h, b,f,l,ll,ss,j,v,w,x How to play: Roll the dice. When it lands on a number, find that column on the game board. Spell the first picture from that column on your spelling grid. Continue rolling and spelling each picture. Can be played with 1 or 2 players. UPDATE: now includes an answer pack and a bonus activity - Roll It Find It

A bit different to the normal matching that is available elsewhere, as there is for each sound approx 2 - 6 pictures and sentences for each phase 5 sound . The sentence in some cases are also a bit silly i.e A lime with a smile... A hive with a smile. I've only change 1 or 2 words in each sentence so makes the children read for comprehension. Can also use the pictures for sentence writing, or read the sentences and draw the picture to go with it. 105 sentences and matching pictures in total.

Sounds boards combine two lots of sounds as well as sound boards (word time! 1& 2, word time! 3&; 4, word time 5& 6). Words are also included for Word Time! 7 which are over a few boards. Either label cars with the words or sounds for a matching activity or sound out the word or say the sound and players park their car in the correct bay. Alternative use the word boards and players park their car in the bay that rhymes with the word you say.

This pack covers all the Phase 4 words and Tricky Words. There are separate sections for the types of words: CVCC CCV and CCVC CCVC, CCCVC and CCCVC These have been further subdivided into words using sets 1-7 letters, words using Phase 3 graphemes and polysyllabic words Either label cars with the words or sounds for a matching activity or sound out the word or say the sound and players park their car in the correct bay. Alternative use the word boards and players park their car in the bay that rhymes with the word you say.

This pack includes all the sounds and words for Set 3 sounds as in the Read Write Inc Speed Sounds Book. How to play Play as a group or in pairs. Players close or cover their eyes. Adult or chosen child hides one of the frog (Fred) cards underneath a lily pad. Players take turns to guess which lily pad by saying the sound or word that’s on the lily pad. Winner hides the frog next.

For displaying the Year 2 Common Exception Words. Some words have a picture to go with them to help aid comprehension of the word. Would work perfectly with the Phonic Forest i have for sale. UPDATE: Cursive Version has now been included.

These are based on the Year 2 Common Exception Words for the new National Curriculum. Each word will have a Dino Delve (find the word 10 times). Also there are Dino Dares which have groups of the Common Exception Words to find and a Dino Disaster where the words are jumbled up. There are two version of this a cut and stick and a written version.

This come with the PowerPoint which is an adult led activity. Macros need to be enabled for it to work, you may get a message to enable if they aren't. Do not save the PowerPoint as it will save it with the letters on the crossword. Also included are a cut and stick version in PDF, written version in PDF and an answer booklet. Prefect to send home or for class use.

(played the same as Go Fish!), Pairs (memory game) and Snap. Instructions for how to play are included in the file. Cards could also be used for sorting and matching activities.

There is a spider and web for each Phase 2 sound. The sound is on the spider and web has pictures and/or words that contain that sound. Ideal for display or working wall.

This pack contains A4 and A5 flashcards with two font options; Sassoon Infant and CCW writing (pre cursive font) which when photocopied/printed following your photocopier/printer instructions will produce word lists on the reverse and a picture clue. Word lists taken from Letters and Sounds.

Phase 2 Fruity Phonics - Interactive Display Version This pack has a tree for each of the Phase 2 sounds and a set of five oranges with pictures that contains the Phase 2 sounds. These are designed to be used interactive display or a table top where children can attach oranges to the correct tree. Ideally enlarge to A3 and laminate for durability. Use Velcro to attach the oranges to the trees.
