INTRO
Lots of us are comfortable supporting the very earliest stages of reading - but once the children are reading fluently and starting to engage with longer chapter books, we can feel a bit lost about how to continue to support them as readers.
It is still VITAL that parents read with their children throughout key stage 2 - this guide gives some support and overview of the key reading skills that are required for successful readers and specific questions that you can ask to support your child’s reading.
Your questions go in the main white section and the answer goes in the yellow box of the next card along - in this way it will create a loop.
16 cards once made with answers included
Type your own questions into each box and place the answer in the top box of the next card to create a your own loop cards to meet the needs of your children
Cut out each of the question cards and place around room/outside
Print out and distribute the answer sheet one per group/person.
Children can start anywhere. They solve the problem and then hunt for the next card which will have the correct answer in the top box - they then answer the question that card and so on…
