A set of 8 different Maths activity worksheets to practise making 10. Activities included are drawing or using objects to represent number bonds, writing number sentences to match number bonds, completing part whole models for number bonds to 10, solving word problems, using bar models. These sheets focus solely on number bonds to 10. They give children the opportunity to practise number bonds to 10, use manipulatives or pictorial representation to solve problems and also give children the opportunity to practise recording number sentences. I have used these as worksheets during Maths lessons focusing on number bonds to 10 plus have also laminated the different sheets for children to use during choosing time or early work.
Aimed at Early Years and Year 1 children however could also be used as part of an intervention for Year 2 children.
For my Making 5 Activity Worksheets see https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/making-5-activity-worksheets-12185922
A Maths game aimed at Year 1 children.
The game includes addition and subtraction facts to 10, 2D and 3D shapes, doubling and halving. Each child is given a differentiated clue card showing either a number problem or a shape problem, children solve the problem and then need to look for the solution in the picture slide. The aim of the game is for children to be the first to spot the solution to their problem.
Children enjoy solving the problems and trying to be the first to spot their solution. This game supports children to recognise shapes, recognise number names and learn maths facts.
A fun Maths activity to introduce children to 2D shapes.
The activity includes interactive activities for the children to join in with. The activity shows different 2D shapes and describes their properties. Children then have to guess the 2D shape that is being described or the 2D shape that is being slowly revealed. Children then have to explain why a shape eg a circle is not a triangle, this encourages children to use the vocabulary to describe 2D shapes and demonstrates their understanding of 2D shapes. There is also a shape spotting activity using pictures and an odd one out activity again encouraging children to describe and talk about the properties of 2D shapes. My class have enjoyed using this PowerPoint to learn about 2D shapes and it encourages lots of talk about 2D shapes. The activity could be used as a whole class activity or in small intervention groups.
There are also 3 differentiated 2D shape worksheets for the children to complete.
Aimed at Early Years and Year 1 children.

A fun Maths activity to introduce children to 3D shapes and related vocabulary.
The lesson includes interactive activities for the children to join in with. The lesson shows children different 3D shapes and describes their properties. Children then have to guess the 3D shape that is being described or the shape that is being slowly revealed. Children then have to use their knowledge of 3D shapes to explain why a shape eg a cuboid is not a cube. This activity is good for assessing children’s understanding of 3D shapes and encourages them to use the related vocabulary. There is then a chance for children to spot 3D shapes in the classroom, children could either record this on whiteboards or on paper. There is also an odd one out activity, this activity again encourages children to use the vocabulary to describe 3D shapes. This lesson encourages lots of talk and discussion about 3D shapes.
