There are 8 booklets in total, each one focuses on a main chapter from the Hodder textbook. There are various tasks for students to complete using their textbook as a guide. Each booklet contains activities : • making specific notes • answering key questions • examining extracts based on the exam question stem • practice essays and interpretations questions • completing tables • revising some relevant knowledge • learning key words and key terms The number of pages in the booklets range between 35 and 47 pages.

These practice questions on the Elizabeth I exam paper for Eduqas and WJEC came about after my pupils wanted past papers to help them revise! I have put together a selection of practice questions in the style of all five questions on the exam paper. Question 1 - What can be learnt from Sources A and B ... (8 questions) Question 2 - To what extent does this source accurately reflect the...? (11 questions) Question 3 - Why was...? (17 questions) Question 4 - Explain the connections between TWO of the following that are to do with...? (9 questions) There is a space underneath each question for pupils to write notes when going over them in class. Question 5 - 2. How far do you agree with this interpretation of...? (23 questions) This will give pupils a chance to get a real feel for the new paper and practice their exam skills. N.B. There are no questions specifically focused on Wales during the Elizabethan era.

A set of 42 flashcards based on all the key content on the spec - giving pupils the key information they need to revise. Knowledge based only they contain the key content from the spec in easy to learn bullet points. There are 22 pages in the resource and each page has two flashcards - I had them photocopied onto card, cut into two, hole punched in the corner and then put a treasury tag in to make a set of flashcards. Every flashcard deals with key content and the resources covers the whole spec for Elizabeth I. I have also included the blank proformas for the flashcards useful for a revision activity for pupils to make their own before giving them the completed ones!

A sequence of three lessons for key question 1 of Elizabeth I - Why were the Catholics such a serious threat to Elizabeth? These lessons are retrieval based and are used in conjunction with the knowledge organiser included. Lesson 1 - The Big Picture - extended content with a Do it Now and retrieval activity Lesson 2 - Mind mapping lesson with an example mind map and a Do Now for the start of the lesson Lesson 3 - Testing - An extended Do Now comprising of 10 factual questions and one of the exam questions which feature on the Elizabeth I exam paper. The question is explained, modelled and then students have a go too. The slides are based around the knowledge on the knowledge organiser. During the mind mapping and retrieval activities, higher ability students are given extra information so that they complete in more detail. We have found this method successful in helping all of our students remember the key information as the three lesson sequence embeds the core knowledge they need. Homeworks should be focused on revising / self-quizzing from knowledge organisers as well as completing mind maps. This method is also useful when students are absent from previous lessons as they are able to fit straight back in by using knowledge organisers.

Each question - 1 to 5 - has at least 2 practice questions as well as a detailed scaffold for each question to show students how to maximise marks. 12 pages long and used with my own Y11 class.
