Lesson for A-level AQA Changing Places unit on the development of insiders and outsiders. Presentation considers the development of insider and outsider perceptions of Newcastle and that of a Syrian migrant in Germany. The lesson then looks at exogenous factors, migration in Boston, Lincoln, and favela development and gentrification in Rio, Brazil, and the impact it has had on the lived experience of residents. I used newspaper articles for this lesson, which can't be uploaded due to copyright. This could therefore be a research task; but I have included summary sheets. There is also 20 question assessment.
Presentation cover small and larger scale tectonic features associated with volcanoes. Student activity is to draw the development of the features using the flow diagrams.
Designed for AQA Changing Places unit this exercise asks students to annotate past images of Sneinton and Ilkeston, then complete a Google search of present images from the locations. Students can then complete the summary table to evaluate the changes that have taken place. An examination question is included.
Based on the popular app game. Two players are needed. One player choose a coin value, the second player draws an image associated with the word, if the first player guesses correctly they win the coin value. Used as a revision exercise at GCSE.
