This is a 9 slide power point on Respiration. I use this with my Foundation & GCSE Double award class as a class presentation and as a starter for my Triple Group. With Triple groups you will only need to include the chemical equation for respiration and go into more detail with respect to ATP, which is not required for double award. It includes aerobic and anaerobic respiration, differences between the two, the word equations, release of energy (ATP), oxygen debt and RQ quotient. This is a power point explaining all of the key terms related to ecosystems with exam terminology and great pictures and diagrams. I uploaded this onto my school system as a homework to test students on all of the key terms and what they mean. I have also used a plenary to lessons and as revision at the end of the unit. Also, found this really helpful with GCSE foundation/SEN groups; as the term are easily read and the pictures are bright and eye catching. The work sheet has every key word written and students just fill in the definitions. They can then stick the sheet in the front of their books. The second worksheet is for a class activity, or a home work and sets students tasks to complete on ecosystems, predator - prey relationships, etc. The following terms are stated: classification (artificial and natural), evolutionary trees, binomial system (genus & species), habitat, ecosystem, producer, consumer, pyramid of numbers, biomass , predator, prey, equation foe energy transfer in food chains, energy loss through food chains, parasites, mutualism, interspecific and intraspecific relationships, adaptations (specialists, generalists, extremophiles, anatomical and behavioural adaptations).

This is a 29 slide power point specifically to cover all aspects of the OCR AS Biology specification. The syllabus is shown at the beginning so students can tick off each stage of the specification as you teach it. Easy to read text following closely to the specification, colourful diagrams and easy to understand explanations. This ppt covers the main food groups, and the tests required to test for proteins, fats, starch and sugars. There are excellent sheets especially for KS3 students or GCSE SEN/Foundation students. They are fill in the gaps, draw diagrams and enter results. The sheets follow the ppt and can be used with or without the presentation. I have used them with KS3 classes and with GCSE SEN/Foundation classes, as easy to follow, understand and complete. Sheets can be stuck into their books at the end of the lesson.

GCSE Biology revision sheets - 14 in total, aimed at Higher Tier/Triple students. These can be printed individually as A4 /A3 sheets to be used in various lessons as starters, plenaries or home works. I used these with my Triple group as revision tools. The students loved them and many used them as part of their revision. Theses 2 resources contain 7 sheets in total which include a help sheet, task sheet, fill in the gaps worksheet, pictures for students to use with their notes, and the need to find extra information. These sheets consolidate the lesson taught and all of the key facts covered. These would be excellent as mini tests, home works or just for revision purposes before the exam. These work sheets go in combination with my ppt resource on SA:V ratios and the ppt on gaseous exchange. You could use them in combination with them.

This power point was made for my double award/foundation students to try and explain as concisely as possible about drug testing procedures and why they are important. It starts by telling the story of thalidomide and then goes into why it led to better testing conditions, what they are and the procedures for human testing, using placebos and blind trials.
