Suicide Awareness / Prevention WebQuest for High School Health , Mental Health
Are you wanting to teach suicide awareness for your high school health class but you’re not sure the best way to start? I’ve been there and this resource is my solution! I like to start off with a full discussion on how knowledge is one of the best preventions of suicide. With this as an opening, I hand out the WebQuest for my students and put them in pairs to go over the World In Data Suicide website where they can view data from around the world on suicide.
The website is well organzied and has countless interactive charts that span different time periods, countries, ages, and other various factors. This WebQuest is full of critical thinking questions that help the students not only read the charts and data but think deeply about what it’s telling us about our society.

This activity takes a full class period and not all of the students will finish so it’s great to assign as homework after. I recommend this resource for grades 9-12.

High school students know that taking drugs and alcohol is risky… but I’ve created a GOOGLE SLIDES + PDF simulation game to show them realistic consequences for things like underage drinking and prescription drug misuse all the while having FUN learning about it. PLUS I made it super easy for you to set up!
Every student will be given a genetics card, personality card, and life experiences card that factor into the consequences for their choices. They must make 9 choices and if they make a risky choice they have to roll the dice and see how it impacts their mental health and/or physical health. Throughout the game there will be 2 case studies and videos to show real world examples.

Dangers of Sexting / Revenge Porn Mock Trial - 2 Day Sexual Health Activity
Your middle/high school students have heard lectures and lessons on the dangers of sexting and sending nudes. When it comes to risky behavior that often includes lots of peer pressure, it’s more effective to SHOW the consequences, not just tell. Here’s how! This 2-day mock trial on the consequences of sexting uses real-life case studies, information on state laws (if you are not in the USA, there is a Google version that is editable for you) and teaches an impactful lesson on why it’s ALWAYS unsafe to send intimate photos to ANYONE.

Your students are smart… but are they street smart? This personal safety simulation game helps students develop real-world skills for risk prevention on a night out. It covers everything from the dangers of drunk driving, avoiding spiked drinks, staying in groups, identifying unlicensed Ubers/taxis, avoiding fights, and watching personal belongings.
These topics are explored through 7 real-world scenarios where students must make a choice. If they pick a risky option, they roll the dice.
