Activities are flexible - one lesson with up to 75 minutes worth of teaching materials so power point can be edited down as needed. Learning objectives, learning checks and RAG-rating included making it easy to pitch towards all abilities. You can edit to include the assessment/grading scheme of your setting easily. Make the most of the two sets of practice papers released for the new 9-1 Spanish Edexcel exam, the Sample Assessment Material and the Extra Sample Assessment Materials. This is the second lesson of two for the Extra Sample Assessment Material released by Edexcel. It includes strategy, questions and the mark scheme. It also includes a per-question breakdown of the topic and relevant pages in the Edexcel 9-1 GCSE Spanish revision guide. So if your students struggle with a question, they know what to study. Extra revision materials like mind map starters and BBC Bitesize resources are included. Useful collection of power points and activities which cover places in town, describing your local area, directions in town, maps, near or far. Power points are fairly well structured but can be amended as needed for your classes. Plenty of pictures to use within the power point or create flashcards from. Lots of possibilities.

Excellent way to practice the concept and process of poetry analysis using the wonderful words-to-rhythm technique of Benjamin Zephaniah. This poem resource introduces Benjamin’s rationale and arguments for becoming vegan and so provides a good topic to debate for a speaking coursework topic as well. Introduces 7 analytic terms and scaffolds a PEE paragraph.

Excellent for disengaged pupils or SEN who have real trouble identifying with poetry. This resource compiles two lessons; the first, on urban wild style and the beginnings of hip-hop in NYC in the 1980s, and the second, on Langston Hughes and his ruminations both on Harlem and on civil rights. It attempts to get the students to identify with the feelings behind both types of artists and the motivation for writing poetry/lyrics. Engaging and emotional with pictures of the South Bronx ghetto community from which the Sugar Hill Gang got their inspiration.

Uses Alicia Keys ‘Empire State of Mind’ to analyse a poem based on a place. Concrete images and music help students to ‘see’ what poet sees when describing a place with a poem. Excellent and engaging. Editable power point resource.
