Number cards are ideal for display and for support with counting. They are best printed on card stock and laminated for durability.
Recognizing numbers and knowing their names is an important first step in learning mathematics, but math education experts say that it’s also very important for children to develop number sense: the ability to relate number symbols (for example, 1, 2, and 3) to the amounts they stand for. Number sense includes these skills:
Comparing quantities (more than and less than)
Putting numbers in order
Number cards are a great way to learn this. In addition to understanding the importance of number sense, math educators must also recognize that when children are learning the meanings of the number symbols 1, 2, 3, and so on, they are actually learning several different ideas at the same time. For example, to understand the meaning of the symbol 2, a child would need to grasp all of these facts:
The symbol 2 stands for the spoken word “two”.
The symbol 2 can stand for a certain number of objects.
The symbol 2 can stand for the second position in a sequence.
When counting, 2 comes after 1 and before 3.
The written word two also stands for the spoken word “two”, so 2 and two mean the same thing.
This set of number cards 1 to 50 displays the number words in English and Spanish. Print in color or black and white. Two games are also included.

This verb game has been created to help with the understanding of what a verb is. This is an ideal, fun and interactive way to learn or reinforce. This verb game can be played as pairs, in small groups or by splitting your class into equal groups.
How to play this verb game?
Students can play this in pair, in small groups or as a whole class activity.
Using your group cards, write your names on the group you are in.
You have two minutes to complete each round.
Each group takes it in turns in picking a place card. Your teacher will instruct you on which group and who is picking the card.
The group with the most points at the end wins. Your teacher will decide how many rounds you are playing.
When a Place card is picked up – Each group must write down as many verbs as possible in the 2 minute time allowed.
After the two minutes is up each group checks with their group members to make sure there is no repeated verbs. No matching words are allowed.
The group with the most verbs wins a point. The group with the most points at the end of all rounds wins.
Teachers Notes
You will need to print the place cards – to save on paper you can print back to back.
To make the game a little more visually appealing you can print the cards with the name ‘place card’ on them on color card/paper.
I recommend printing on card and laminating as this will ensure longer usage of the activity.
There are 4 group cards with lines for students to write their names. There is room for 8 names on each group card. I recommend these are printed on card and laminated. Your students can then use dry erasers to write the names.
I recommend using a two minute timer for this game. I have found this to be the more realistic time frame and gives enough time for the competition feel. You can expand or decrease this time.
I have found that selecting the students your self causes less arguments on whose going first. However, feel free to use a method that works best with your kiddos.

This book review template is not just about summarising and re-writing. First the comprehension of the book your kiddos have read is grasped. Once sheet one is completed and has been checked by the teacher they can move on to creating their book review booklet.
Comprehension page
The comprehension page ask your students to summarise key parts. I recommend asking them to use bullet points as this will be easier to go back and double check.
Review Booklet
The booklet review will print on letter size paper and fold into four. Once the parts have been filled out your kiddos can decorate the cover and other parts by coloring sections in.

Reading records are a good way to assess how much reading a child has done. This can be either at home, school or in reading groups. However, its not just about a child reading for a certain amount of minutes, it’s also about their understanding (comprehension) of what they have read.
Some students find it very easy to skim read or are able to decode words with ease but when it comes to the actual understanding of the text or book they have read it can sometimes seem as if they haven’t read it at all. That is not the case its just their comprehension.
This reading record sheet aims to help you to help them by knowing if they understand what they have read.
What’s on the reading record sheet?
There are 7 sections (1 week of reading)
Each day has a different comprehension question (some are easier than others)
