This activity offers a different way to teach tally and pictographs. Students choose 20 sweet cards from the sweet deck (or any amount you choose from the 45 cards). We recommend that 20 cards offers the most interesting collection to work with.
Students are invited to collect the data of their chosen cards and write it on the tally sheet. Finally, the students will then plot it on a pictograph. Three pictograph sheets are included, one that has a key of one image = one sweet, one of one image = 2 sweets, and a final one where students can input their own ratio of image to sweets.
The nature of this activity means that each student should, in theory, produce their own tally and bar graph, unique from other students in the class.
We have also included differentiated versions of the worksheets themselves for those who need a little help with matching the sweets colours to the name.

This pack is filled with worksheet activities covering combining like terms, expand and factorise expressions and substitution. All worksheets are differentiated to three levels, offering supported worksheets, as well as worksheets which challenge the most able students. Answer sheets are also included for all worksheets.
Term Trees introduce students to like terms, the essential knowledge needed to successfully combine like terms. Combing Terms Pyramid then puts this knowledge into practice. Geometry in Algebra goes one step further, and applies combining terms knoeledge to geometry scenarios.
The final combining like terms worksheet is a fun activity; a crossword. Students collect terms on a worksheet, and then put their answers in the crossword sheet. Each differentiated worksheet has the same questions, but to make things easier for some students, we have included some terms in spaces to give a clue. This is also great for self checking answers.
The next two worksheets focus on expanding and factorising, and is a standard worksheet with questions on both expanding brackets and factorising terms with one set of brackets (linear equations). For the challenging questions, this includes simple quadratics with one bracket; ie x(x+2). The second of these worksheets is an unusual activity combining area of shapes as a form of setting up equations to then factorise.
The final two worksheets looks at substitution. The first consists of a grid; the rows gives the value of x and y, and the columns give the expression to be substituted. The second is a collection of questions about substitution which includes an applied question to do with the temperature conversion equation and knowledge of commutative expressions.
All the worksheets in this pack focus on the essential manipuation skills of algebra needed to work with algebra effectively.

The first worksheet introduces students to the concept of finding fractions of amounts using unit fractions (with a numerator of 1) as a division sum. It also includes a fill in the clue puzzle. The second worksheet expands on this concept, by introducing the idea of finding fractions of amounts as being division of the denominator (splitting the amount into groups) and multiplying by the numerator (counting how many groups we want).
The third worksheet is a puzzle where students link the two similar answers with a straight line that goes through a letter. The letters spell out a famous mathematician. The first differentiation of this includes a reminder of how to find fractions of amounts.
The fourth worksheet consists of a collection of fraction questions about a clock maker. It consists of word problems looking at the digits of a clock, minutes in an hour and hours in a day, all in terms of fractions. The fifth worksheet again looks at fractions word problems. Images are provided to help students find the answers. Differentiation 1 includes a reminder of how to find a fraction of amount. Differentiations 2 and 3 consist of a question with more difficulty.
Worksheet 6 asks students to find 10%, 50% and 25% of amounts, and worksheet 7 extends this to include 20%, 5% and 1%. Differentiation 1 of worksheet 7 includes a helpful guide of how to find each percent as a division. This worksheet is a fun maze activity. The next activity, Percentage grid, encourages using a grid to find percentages, and includes some more challenging percentage questions.
Worksheet 9 takes percentages and puts them into the context of pie charts. The final worksheet consists of work problems involved in finding percentages of amounts.

Angle Wars is a Card Game designed to strengthen a student’s skills at identifying acute and obtuse angles. It also encourages them to measure angles using a protractor. It make for an engaging activity.
Deal cards to each player. A base card is then revealed, and students much choose a card in their hand with the closest angle in degrees to the base card.
This is a fast and fun game for revising angles, and students wont even realise they are working as they play.
You will need at least one protractor to play this game properly, however it is recommended that all players have their own protractors.
All of the cards are numbered randomly and correspond to the answer key which is provided in this game pack. The cards only feature Acute and Obtuse angles.

Pythagoras Follow Me Cards
These clip cards are a great way to test students’ recognition of basic 2D and 3D shapes. The given possible answers have been carefully chosen to allow teachers to spot any misconceptions students may have about the names and spellings of shapes.
The idea of this activity is that students clip a clothespin, peg or a paperclip to what they think the correct name or spelling of the shape is. This activity works equally well when the cards are laminated. Students simply circle the correct answer using a dry erase marker. Alternatively, you can print these on paper, hand out to your class at the end of the lesson, so they can put their names on and circle the correct answer, serving as a great plenary activity to a lesson.
These cards are in colour, but print equally well in grey scale for cost savings. We have included two versions of this activity, one with shapes filled in (and in the case of the 3D shapes, designed as a solid shape) and a second with just the shapes outline, for if you are worried about ink usage (and for the 3D shapes, these are wireframes).

This collection of number puzzle strips is a great way for students to demonstrate their ability to count. A large image is cut into strips. When the strips are placed in order, a picture is revealed.
We have supplied two versions of each puzzle. One version in landscape that has the numbers from left to right, mimicking the number line. The other in portrait with numbers ascending from bottom to top, preparing students for later work with graphs in the y axis.
We recommend you pre cut the strips to hand to students, and also laminate the strips for longevity if you wish. For an extra challenge, why not combine a few of the puzzles, so students not only have to put the numbers in the correct order, but decide which pieces should go with which puzzle.
