Students have to translate five sentences by working their way up the grid. To make it more competitive, I tell them that if they mistake a mistake they lose their turn, but if they get a whole sentence right, they get one achievement point (or any other reward). It is a very nice activity that can be easily modified and adapted to students needs. This is an activity to challenge your students to identify the mispronounciation of some words in the Target Language. I am uploading this resource in Spanish but it can easily be adapted to all languages. Here is what you have to do: You are going to read the sentences to the class out loud. You are going to read each sentence twice. The first time, you will read the sentence correctly. The second time, you will make a mistake when pronouncing one of the words in that sentence. This is a lesson that I have created to teach my students about the LGBTQI+ movement and how it started. It also teaches them about how the LGBTQ rights evolved from zero to what they are today, given that during the Franco dictatorship they were prosecuted and sometimes even killed. This lesson includes: A PPT presentation Information about the facts mentioned above. 9 activities (reading, translation, listening through a video). All answers embedded in Power Point.

This is a booklet I have created for low ability groups. I basically give them a list of vocab that we have already seen in class and then they design a booklet for a partner. Then, they do their partners work and when they finish they swap back and mark their work. It keeps them doing something and they like to create work for someone else… Also they enjoy the marking!
