This is a resource I use with students that require Travel Training sessions. This is a fun activity to do with students as a break from regular Travel Training sessions. Students can complete a photography scavenger hunt, where they have to practice their road safety skills whilst walking around their local area, taking photographs of a variety of things, such as a round-a-bout or zebra crossing. Feel free to delete any options that are not relevant to your local area, or add others in.

This resource is a scenario where students can plan a trip to their local Starbucks cafe. You just need to add the appropriate info (street names etc.) for your local area! It gives advice to students of things they need to consider when planning their journey. It also encourages budgeting skills.

I use this resource with students that require Travel Training sessions. This is a short road safety quiz, with statistical information provided by the World Health Organisation about road traffic injuries in youths. It also provides information on how to cross the road safely.

5 pages of evidence assessment sheets for the Entry Level 3 EDSQ course, perfect for organising and building portfolio’s of work. ICT tutors can use the evidence assessment sheets to state what evidence is provided in the students portfolios, when students have demonstrated practical IT skills or completed paperwork for their EDSQ course. It covers all of the EDSQ, Pearson course criteria, but can be easily adapted to suit other course EDSQ curriculums, such as OCN or NOCN.

It recaps the 5 different media sectors and the students can then choose a media sector to research a career they may be interested in, to discover what skills, qualities and qualifications are needed. Suitable for Entry Level 3+ students. I use this PowerPoint with the accompanying worksheet. The slides also demonstrates how what the students have been doing/learning in sessions is relevant to a potential career in media.

A Year Plan for the Arts Award (Bronze) for 2023/2024. It has a Graphic Design project based theme. I like to create a year plan first, to plan my year out before completing my Scheme of Learning (I like how you can see the whole year on one page) The Year Plan can be put at the front of each students’ folder and the student can see where they’re up to too, ideal for SEN students who like to know what’s coming next! This Arts Award Year Plan is for the academic year 2023-2024 and is easily adapted to suit your curriculum needs. Suitable for Entry Level+ students.

This resource can be used with students that require support around building social skills. This is an activity where students can list 6 conversations starters on the sheet, before writing them onto a cube net and creating a conversation starter dice. You could use it as a social skills activity during Travel Training sessions, where students are encourage to practice good social skills in the local community; or used as evidence towards the Rarpa, PfA - Preparing for Adulthood target of Friends, Relationships & Community Skills.

Can be used for the Pearson EDSQ course specifications: 1.2 - Finding Information 1.2.1 Navigate online content to locate required information. 1.2.2 Carry out searches to find information and content. Includes opportunities for students to demonstrate how to find information on the Internet, how to navigate websites/weblinks and how to verify information/image. Perfect for Entry Level 3 and Level 1 students, including SEN students. There is also an 11 slide PowerPoint presentation to go with it, that is a full teaching PowerPoint, with recap of previous lesson, learning outcomes, gauging prior knowledge, teaching slides, keywords, 2 extension tasks and a recap of learning.

A Scheme of Work Year Plan (year overview) for the ICT/Computing Essential Digital Skills Qualification (EDSQ) for Entry Level 3 & Level 1. The year plan uses the Pearson curriculum specification (although can easily be adapted to suit other awarding bodies such as NOCN or OCN). Starting the academic year 2024-2025. Useful as a guide when creating your schemes of work or can be put at the front of students’ folders to chart progress. Ideal for SEN students, the course curriculum is spaced out through the year to allow plenty of time for completion and repeat assessments if needed. It covers all five units: Using Devices and Handling Information Creating and Editing Communicating Transacting Being Safe and Responsible Online.

This is a film review worksheet for students completing Film or Media Studies. It is a 4 page document. Students have to answer questions about the plot, the characters, the graphics and sound.

This resource can be used for students that require Rarpa (Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement); it is linked to the PfA (Preparing for Adulthood) goal/target: Independent Living Skills If students have set up their own personal independent living skills goal, tutors or LSA’s can provide a witness statement towards this goal. There is also an accompanying evidence sheet, where students can then provide photographic evidence for the goal.

There is also an accompanying witness statement sheet, where tutors or LSA’s can provide written evidence towards the goal.

I use this ICT/Computing resource as a short extension task during ICT sessions. Students are to name the computer file extensions.
