Leabhar gaeilge bunaithe ar imní le spreagadh a thabhairt do pháistí labhairt le duine éigin má tá imní orthu. Cuireann sé in iúl go n-éiríonn imní níos lú nuair a labhraimid le duine éigin. Irish picture book based on worry to encourage children to talk about their worries. It shows that our worries get smaller when we speak to someone.

Bí i do shuí cosúil le frog

Leabhar Gaeilge le cuidiú le páistí a bheith socair agus ciúin. An irish rhyming picture book to help children be calm, still and quiet. It uses the analogy of the frog because a frog can sit still and appreciate its surroundings, just as we would like our children to be able to do.

Cur i láthar bunaithe ar orgánacha beo agus neamhbheo le hintinní foghlama, eolas, pointí le plé agus cluiche ag an deireadh le foghlaim a chur chun cinn. Rinneadh seo do Rang 4 agus d’ éirigh go maith leo ach braitheann sé seo ar ábaltachta an ranga. Powerpoint based on living and nonliving organisms with learning intentions, information, points for discussion and a game at the end to reinforce learning. This resource was made for Primary 4 in an Irish medium school but this depends on the ability of the class.

Measuring weight with Pirate Kidd PP

Pirate themed numeracy powerpoint to teach children about weight. Children are presented with different common objects and asked if they would use grams or kg to weigh them. I would suggest each child has a whiteboard, fan or flashcards so they all get a fair chance to participate in the lesson. I used this with a primary 3 class but this depends on the ability of the class.

Pancake Tuesday/ Shrove Tuesday related numeracy lesson. Children are asked to add the price of toppings together to work out how much their pancake will cost. I would suggest that each child has a whiteboard so that they can all take part. So practical and everyone gets a chance to take part- what’s not to love?

Centimetres or metres? Powerpoint

This resource would be perfect to introduce centimetres and metres to KS1 pupils. It includes different images and children are asked if they would use centimetres or metres to measure the weight of it. I would suggest that each child uses fans, flashcards or simply a whiteboard so they can all take part. I promise you they will love it!

Is áis bainistiú iomraíochta é seo le húsáid ar zoom/ foghlaim ar líne. Úsáidim é ag tús gach ceachta agus téim ar ais chuige más gá i rith an cheachta, go háirithe le páistí óga. Rialacha san áireamh: suigh i do chathaoir, cuir do lámh in airde más maith leat labhairt, bí ciúin má tá duine eile ag caint, bí ag éisteacht, bíodh meas agat, bain sult as! Leagan Béarla ar fáil fosta. This visual resource makes a great set of rules for remote learning. I use this on zoom calls at the start of each lesson, especially for younger children and refer back to them throughout the lesson if needs be. It really does work wonders! Rules consist of: sit nicely in your chair, put your hand up before you speak, don’t talk while others are talking, listen to others, have respect and have fun. English medium version also available.

Teacher and pupil function machines

In this resource, you will find a large coloured function machine that could be used by the teacher to model the activity. I have printed and laminated this as an A3 sheet and attach to the whiteboard using bluetack. You will also find a set of smaller function machines that can be used by the children. They are black and white so the children can decorate them themselves and to save ink.
