Looks at how identity is shown in a teenage magazine article vs political speech. Includes template for researching theory. Could easily be adapted for AQA meanings and representations. Includes potential sentence openers/ structures.

Life of Pi extract, descriptive writing stimulus and differentiated resources as well as PEE grid. Used with Y9-11. Good for IGCSE coursework and new AQA spec.

KS4 An Inspector Calls resources, also used with KS3. Extensive collection of activities.

Differentiated card sort looking at Priestly's message. Students can choose the basic match activity or one with a gap fill. Students must match cards with character. Grid to be printed on A3.

Question to be completed in exam conditions followed by walkthrough, however, this could always be edited to give students a lesson first followed by the exam.

Lesson (or may last for more) looking at the features of travel writing. Was used with Y12 Edexcel student though could have other uses.

A lesson on Friar Lawrence in Act 4 scene 1 used with a Y8 LA class.

The sheet needs to be laminated and used over texts as a prompt for students. This has really helped the confidence of my Y12 students.

There resources for the new GCSE in English Language could be used as an intro lesson, wall display or made into a booklet to hand out to KS4 students. A number of ideas taken from CGP revision guide.

A range of lessons looking at the novel Freak the Mighty. Many of these PP slides were printed as worksheets.

A detailed LTP for co-teaching Edexcel English Language A-Level. A good starting point for anybody who is new to the course.

An introduction to pre-1914 literature. Looks at context of Sherlock Holmes as well as extract and writing skills. Used with Y8 and 9.

Looking at Shakespeare and his sonnets (an introduction). Particularly looks at Sonnet 18 and 130. Looks at iambic pentameter and pathetic fallacy. Information on Shakespearian context. Two version of PP, one for M-HA y8 the other used with LA Y8 (nurture group).

The activities on the PP were created by me for use with a LA 10 class who have just started looking at Paper 2. Initially students attempted the exam paper and then we had a walk through focusing on inferring information (2) using terminology (3) and the success criteria for Q4. I have made structure strips to assist in answering the Section B question. The original paper is not my own.
