Thisfully editable, A4, colour-coded sheet can be printed double sided, and lists the key moments for each of the main character in Willy Russell's 'Blood Brothers', including any songs that relate to these moments. I created this resource to help my pupils sequence and group the events in the play when answering character questions, but you could also remove certain elements and ask pupils to fill in the gaps as a revision exercise. I taught this lesson as a double, so there is plenty of material in here for a lively discussion about the importance of the themes and characters in 'Blood Brothers'. This lesson focuses on the question: who is responsible for the deaths of Mickey and Eddie? Students are asked to: -Rank characters in order of responsibility, and discuss their opinionS -Evaluate the importance of thematic and contextual factors, including: poverty, class, fate, superstition, nature and nurture. - Consolidate their knowledge on a worksheet and reflect on their final opinion.

This is a creative lesson which gives pupils the opportunity to imagine they are producing their own version of Blood Brothers. From casting, lighting and scenery to story boarding pivotal moments, this was a really enjoyable lesson that helped students to visualise the play. I taught it after we had finished the whole text, and it was very well received by students!
