My store has a range of resources in Speech and Language, SEND and Computing. It includes an Advanced form of 'Colourful Semantics' which I called 'Colourful Speech' which I developed to be used with one-to-one, small groups and whole class teaching it spans across the curriculum. It helps children to understand grammar and word groups as they progress through their learning journey. I love creating bespoke resources to help children with specific needs.

Social Story about Telling the Truth

(1)
Social Story- A story that helps a child to understand a situation or event. This is a story I wrote one evening for a six year old girl I was working with. It is very basic and the illustrations are very simple. It helped her to understand that, making up stories about other children could upset them. It helped her to understand that, making up stories about other children might make her feel uncomfortable. It helped her to understand that, making up stories has consequences. Writing bespoke stories, targeted at an individual child, can quickly deal with issues that arise. Stories shared in the classroom or at home helped us to work as a team. Bespoke, targeted, Speech and language resources, address the needs of an individual child. This is a little booklet to print out, it helps students practice their Word Processing Skills in Microsoft Word , Google Docs or similar. They can work at their own rate to score points for skills demonstrated. It is a useful activity to practice skills that have been taught, check retention or assess levels. It relates to my Digital Literacy/Multimedia Skills Ladder.Which I have now added to this resource.

Social Story- A story that helps a child to understand a situation or event. This is a story I wrote one evening for a six year old girl I was working with. It is very basic and the illustrations are very simple. It helped her to understand that, sometimes things just happen by accident. It helped her to understand that, sometimes people can misunderstand what has happened. It helped her to understand that, If we use the wrong body language, what we are thinking may not be clear. It helped her to understand that, when you have had time to think, you can chose a better way to explain. It is vital that we teach our children to keep safe online. Hopefully by sharing this resource you can help to give your children the knowledge to keep themselves safe while enjoying the Internet. These resources have been developed over the last 11years but due to their nature, they are always a work in progress. It is part of my Communicating, Collaborating and E-Safety planning (DL-CCE) Children learn how to communicate and share information in a variety of different ways. They learn how to stay safe when using the Internet and how to keep personnel information private. They talk about current issues such as Cyber bullying/friendship, mobile phone use and sensible and safe use of all Technology. They also talk about being aware of how long they spend using this Technology and how they can take ownership of their usage. They discuss ‘The right to be unavailable’ and talk about turning off mobile phones and other devices. We try to help them understand that social networking is a wonderful way to communicate but that it can be time consuming and demanding if not used carefully. I hope these resources help you to ensure that your children have the knowledge to keep themselves safe and the tools to deal with problems or dangers that arise.

An algorithm is the set of instructions needed to complete a task. This is an activity to be used away from the computer.(Unplugged computing) Children to use and understand control language. They write where the treasure is on the back, then swap sheets with someone. If the instructions lead to the wrong place they can fix or debug their algorithm. Children can design their own robots or use the printouts. Here are the * I can statements* I can use numbers in instructions. I can use a 90 degree turn.
