Chinese New Year is a festival which celebrates the beginning of next year in the Chinese Lunar Calendar. These activities can be used as standalone activities or as part of a more in depth look at a celebration from a different culture. The activities include: a quiz, a guided reading activity (more suited to KS2), a Top Trumps card game activity based on the Chinese Zodiac, a template and instructions for making paper lanterns and outlines of Chinese dragons to colour and create your own dragon dances!

They support children who may not be very confident, to communicate their ideas to a partner or the class, without worrying about getting the answer right, as there are no right of wrong answers, they are all just personal opinions.
